Songs will be rated 1-5, with 1 being awful, 3 being mediocre, and 5 being excellent.

The Bomberman Hero soundtrack is a mixed bag. I loved the game, and while playing it I didn't really notice the music very much. Some of the tracks are irritating, others are memorable, and all of them are pretty repetitive. Here's my song-by-song review.

1. Foehn - This song plays during the bomber jet segments of the game. It's a bit repetitive and the sounds are brash and annoying.
> 2 (Bad)

2. Supplement - An underwater song. Very repetitive, and the wavering noises in the background are a bit irritating. However, the whistling melody that comes in every once in a while raises my rating.
> 3 (Mediocre)

3. Redial - Ah, here we have a good one. It starts out with a two-part drum beat (which is usually a sign of a better song, on this soundtrack), which leads into a nice play-back and forth between soothing chords and that whistly instrument that is characteristic of Bomberman Hero.
> 4 (Good)

4. Monogenic - One of my favorites, this song starts out with some ominous, soft chords, that lead into a very neat two-part drum beat. The whole song has a very creepy tone - I remember being somewhat scared of the level it was played on.
> 5 (Excellent)

5. Oropharynx - This song has kind of a droning, macabre sound to it. There's breathing noises in the background once in a while, and contains a buzz, vibrating instrument that does a lot of work as well.
> 3 (Mediocre)

6. Cell - This song, I must say, is very well made compared to some of the others. The main instrument is a buzzing instrument that fades back and forth and builds up, souunding more electronic, while drums and other instruments kick in.
> 4 (Good)

7. Dessert - An extremely atmospheric track. This one always makes me think of being stranded in a log cabin up in a mountain, surrounded by snow, for some reason. I've listened to this on cold walks home from school.
> 5 (Excellent)

8. Realtor - why do these songs have such silly names? This very repetitive track transitions between an electronic drone with ambiant noises in the background, and a low, bass hum.
> 3 (Mediocre)

9. Fatidic - Another very well-made track. I draw similarities between this and Monogenic - they both have a very creepy feel to them. This song makes good use of the game's distinctive whistling instrument.
> 5 (Excellent)

10. wok - I distinctly remember this track being on the snowboard-racing level. It seems kind of annoying at first, but it's strangely enjoyable, going from a beeping loop into a humming part, which transitions into a vibrating synth section.
> 4 (Good)

11. Mimesis - Another very distinct song. This one feels sort of tribal, using mostly drums, bells, and whistles. It's pretty enjoyable.
> 4 (Good)

12. Tripod - The main reason I like this song is because it is Nitros' theme, and Nitros is a pretty cool nemesis. It's kind of intense, but not too awful interesting.
> 3 (Mediocre)

13. Spiral - This song is a VERY repetitive boss track with lots of electronic noises. It's not awful, but it's pretty annoying.
> 2 (Bad)

14. Landlord -
I can't help but laugh at the title of this track. It's the final boss music. It uses loud, dominant chords mostly, and some whirring noises..
> 3 (Mediocre)

15. Zip - Ah, this one is great! It's actually probably the best song in the soundtrack. The song starts out with that characteristic whistling noise in a beautiful little intro, then proceeds into a nice melody of rising and falling chords, drums, and a bell segment that can probably be considered the theme of Bomberman Hero (the same tune is in the credits music).
> 5 (Excellent)

16. Milky - And here we have the credits music. It's a very soft, pleasant remix of Zip, sounding a bit like a lullaby. Has piano-sounding synth, bells and whistles.
> 4 (Good)

17. Beak - The... intro song? There's not much to be said about this one. It's main features are the etherial tones in the background and the buzzy instrument that complements it.
> 3 (Mediocre)

18. Ooze - There's not really a point in this being listed as a song... it's just some dissonant bell chords and a voice saying "the game's ohver." They pronounce "over" a bit oddly.
> 1 (Awful)

19. Loom - Ugh. I HATE this track because it doesn't match the rest of the music, and it's not even in the game. The whole thing is a deluge of horridly creepy guitar and dissonant, looming (ok, the song is aptly named) chords. Then it has some flute, which is weird... Really, this song stands out obnoxiously.
> 1 (Awful)

> Average Score: 3.4

Like I said, this soundtrack was a mixed bag. The good got (mostly) weighted down by the bad. But those good songs are nice for listening to when on a walk on a cold day.
